Sr.Test Engineer
About the Role:
Nextracker is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Test Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our products through rigorous testing and validation. This position offers the opportunity to design test hardware, execute test plans, analyze data, and contribute to development of new products.
What You Will Do:
Design, build, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain test and validations power conversion systems in the field and in the laboratory.
Work closely with engineering team to develop / document / and execute test procedures. Record results, analyze data and prepare reports on the results.
Work closely with the engineering team to develop and execute test procedures for prototype equipment.
Create and maintain JHA (job hazard analysis) for field tests
Design / fabricate power and control panels for test equipment.
Design and fabricate custom test fixtures, tooling, and equipment to meet specific testing requirements.
Conduct a wide range of tests, including (but not limited to):
Thermal Validation
Environmental testing (temperature cycling, humidity, salt spray, UV exposure).
Performance testing (functional testing, life testing, reliability testing).
Data acquisition and analysis using appropriate software and instrumentation.
Set up and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and operation.
Analyze test data, generate reports, and present findings to engineering and management teams.
Identify and troubleshoot testing issues, developing and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO, MIL-STD).
Investigate and analyze field failures or product performance issues, utilizing root cause analysis methodologies and lab testing to replicate failures.
Contribute to the development of new testing methodologies and equipment to meet evolving product needs.
Minimum Requirements:
8+ years of proven experience in field or lab testing environment excluding academic experience
Hands-on experience with a variety of testing equipment and instrumentation (e.g., multimeters, data loggers, oscilloscopes).
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
Great collaboration skills with local and remote coworkers.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Previous experience with high voltage (1000V+) power systems
