What you will do: Electra is seeking a skilled Test Technician to support process development and deployment. This role involves conducting tests, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring diverse test systems meet performance, including reliability, standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, data analysis skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities include:
Perform diagnostic tests and evaluate electrical/mechanical/fluidic systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
Ability to be effective in a dynamic research environment where attention to detail, responding to change, and dealing with ambiguity are essential.
Set up and operate testing equipment, tools, and instrumentation.
Strong understanding of test data, ability to interpret, and prepare presentation materials.
Uses data, technical proficiency and problem-solving tools to advance testing and application of tests to improve processes.
Assist engineering teams with troubleshooting and identifying root causes of failures.
Works with engineering teams to set appropriate specifications, standards or best practices.
Collaborate with other departments to refine testing procedures and improve quality.
Support prototype development, validation, and verification processes
Assist in commissioning and troubleshooting new equipment
Execute standard operating procedures
Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What we need you to bring to the team:
5+ years of experience in a testing environment
Hands-on experience with testing equipment and procedures
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and test protocols
Ability to adapt approach when encountering problems which are varied
Ability to fact find in order to fully understand the issue and consider the most appropriate response
Ability to work independently receiving little instruction on daily work
Demonstrated ability to deliver quality and timely work
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in instrumentation and data logging /reporting software
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
What we want you to bring to the team:
Associates degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of experience in a testing environment
Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignment with little guidance
Ability to work on problems which are varied and non-routine
Experience in mineral processing, steel making or related industries
Ability to up-skill new team members
Compensation:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $29-$32 an hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
