Position Overview

NYCEEC is seeking a resourceful, conscientious operations professional to join our team, providing support to NYCEEC’s operations, and playing an important role in NYCEEC’s work of advancing the clean energy economy.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with other members of the NYCEEC team, the Operations Manager will play a significant role in NYCEEC’s operations and administration, including playing an important role in supporting the company’s fiscal operations, office administration, file management and other administrative activities.

The NYCEEC team functions in a hybrid modality, presently working in NYCEEC’s office in midtown Manhattan at least Tuesday and Wednesday each week, with flexibility for remote work on other days.  This is a full-time position; however, we may consider a candidate seeking a part-time (e.g., 32-hour per week) schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage general accounting support functions, including vendor invoice processing (accounts payable), preparing billing for services provided by NYCEEC (accounts receivable, including grant and grant receivables), credit card statement reconciliation, timekeeping and payroll administration, and expense report preparation and processing, in collaboration with consultants that provide outsourced accounting and other services
  • Contribute to organizational/operational development efforts, including developing and documenting processes to increase office efficiency
  • Collaborate with NYCEEC’s Administrative Coordinator in support of Director of Operations on office management activities, including liaising on matters related to facilities and equipment/technology matters
  • Maintain orderly records and assist with contact management, including entering and updating data in NYCEEC's CRM / databases, and generating reports; safeguard confidential and sensitive information.
  • Coordinate the company’s annual commercial insurance renewals process
  • Support procurement and contract management efforts
  • Support compliance and reporting activities and audits
  • Provide budget planning and analysis support, as needed
  • Provide general support for NYCEEC’s fiscal, operations and administration needs, and special projects as required

Qualifications

  • An interest in NYCEEC’s mission and the transition to a clean energy economy
  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience (e.g., business, public administration, accounting, finance, or related field)
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable and expense reporting practices
  • Superior attention to detail; proven ability to effectively interpret and synthesize a variety of inputs from different stakeholders into compelling written materials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.); proficiency with accounting software is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$130,000 per year (assuming FT employment).  NYCEEC also offers a discretionary bonus based on annual organizational and individual performance.  NYCEEC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
