Our client, global leaders in the wind industry, is looking for a Transport Manager that knows the ins and outs of transporting abnormal loads. You would be responsible for managing and coordinating the entire transport process of each and every component of a wind turbine.

Our ideal candidate, having at least 2 years of experience in a transport operations role, has undergone expensive transport and logistics training according to GWO standards. You are handy as comfortable with operating software systems (JDE, SAP, PDM, Windchill) as you are operating a forklift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor compliance with and deviations from the Logistics Plan, reporting deviations to the responsible parties
  • Control and validate logistics process costs with the Contract Manager, including deviations caused by stoppages
  • Track and oversee the loading/unloading of components (nacelle, hub, blades, drive train, tower sections, segments), providing information for daily meetings
  • Receive and close ERP purchase orders related to Warehouse activities
  • Monitor transport activities, reporting daily on any issues (knocks, damage, cleaning, etc.)
  • Coordinate reverse logistics shipments with the planner and tooling department, ensuring tools are available for shipments and planning transport accordingly
  • Manage port and transport contracts for the final run
  • Verify transport permissions with the supplier
  • Confirm road survey modifications with the supplier
  • Communicate the weekly transport plan to the port, factory, and windfarm
  • Inform all relevant areas of any deviations
  • Provide weekly tracking updates
  • Check and validate penalties with the site controller
