A leading player in the renewable energy sector, our client has facilitated numerous PPAs to both major private and public entities. With operational projects exceeding 450MW and another 25GW in the project pipeline, our client is operating in a landscape requiring
high-level legal eagles.Having practiced as an attorney for
3+ years in the renewable energy space, your
experience negotiating land option and lease agreements throughout the project pipeline is second only to your
stakeholder negotiation skills. Experience bringing projects to financial close is non-negotiable. - Handle commercial and legal negotiations for land rights for renewable energy projects
- Initiate, plan, execute, and control land option and lease agreements from site origination to financial close
- Secure acquisition and lease agreements for land
- Collaborate with land agents and other stakeholders
- Coordinate with key business teams (Servitude Manager, Pipeline Manager, Site Originators, Developers)
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially Landowners
- Inform management about potential property-related risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Review signed option agreements for accuracy and completeness
- Manage and track all land rights agreements
- Engage directly with landowners, stakeholders, and municipalities
- Provide quarterly updates to landowners
- Manage conveyancing process from the developerâs perspective
- Liaise with external counsel for the registration of long-term notarial lease agreements
- Manage and improve an internal management system for option agreements to track progress and due dates
- Inform stakeholders of upcoming expiry or renewal dates
- Identify areas for improvement in leases, option agreements, and related processes
