Our team is building a dynamic network to meet the changing demands for electricity and increasingly, renewable electricity – safely, securely and sustainably in the communities we serve.At SP Energy Networks, we know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.What you'll be doing<ul><li>Lead, coach and develop a high-performing HVDC Operations &amp; Maintenance team, driving a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.</li><li>Provide technical leadership and specialist expertise across existing and future HVDC assets.</li><li>Oversee the safe operation, inspection and maintenance of HVDC converter stations and associated plant in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Support the development, construction, commissioning and ongoing operation of new HVDC projects and interconnections.</li><li>Manage HVDC-related contracts, marine interfaces and stakeholder relationships to ensure effective delivery and value for money.</li><li>Coordinate outage planning and resource deployment to optimise network performance and asset availability.</li><li>Build strong working relationships with internal teams, joint venture partners and external stakeholders.</li><li>Drive operational excellence through performance monitoring, cost control and effective asset management.</li><li>Support trainee development and contribute to wider Transmission Operations objectives and regulatory commitments.</li></ul>What you'll bring<ul><li>Strong knowledge of transmission operations, maintenance practices and HVDC systems.</li><li>Experience with Protection &amp; Control systems and transmission plant standards.</li><li>Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.</li><li>Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.</li><li>Ability to manage complex technical challenges and deliver practical solutions.</li><li>Commercial awareness with experience managing contracts and external stakeholders.</li><li>Knowledge of SAP and asset management systems.</li><li>Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.</li><li>Senior Authorised Person status at transmission voltages (or equivalent experience).</li></ul>Minimum Criteria<ul><li>Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.</li><li>Significant post-qualification experience within a power, utilities or transmission environment.</li><li>Proven experience operating and maintaining high-voltage transmission assets.</li><li>Demonstrable experience working with HVDC systems and technologies.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and asset management systems such as SAP.</li></ul>  What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
