We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our Testing team. As part of this team, you will contribute to the development of flight-critical components and systems for VTOL electric aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are looking to expand this team with like-minded individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Work closely with Test Engineers and Equipment Design Engineers to provide support in assembling, maintaining, and operating in-house designed test rigs, stands and fixtures.</li> <li>Install industry-standard instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems, such as but not limited to foil strain gauges and accelerometers.</li> <li>Support Test Engineers with assembling e-boxes, contactors, and fuse assemblies with minimal supervision. </li> <li>Build wiring harness, soldering of electronics, and overall electrical craftsmanship.</li> <li>Build and maintain custom test jigs meant for testing battery module, battery pack, battery electronics and charge port.</li> <li>Support the Battery Test team during Environmental testing of Battery components.</li> <li>10% of the time supporting battery module cyclers.</li> <li>Setup, execute, and monitor validation and reliability tests at component and system level as per approved test plan.</li> <li>Aid in the development of technical work procedures and process documentation.</li> <li>Maintain a clean workspace and inventory of tools and equipment.</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Experiences with high voltage, high power, and high current.</li> <li>Knowledge of basic safety steps working around battery (risk prevention and mitigation).</li> <li>Experience with handling and operating near high power density cells, modules, and packs.</li> <li>Experience with operating battery modules or pack cyclers, such as Neware and Arbin, to perform acceptance tests.</li> <li>Experiences with thermocouples, current and voltage sensing.</li> <li>Knowledge of National Instruments hardware and LabView software.</li> <li>5 years of experience and relevant ASE Certification or equivalent experience</li> <li>Positive attitude and willingness to work individually and as part of a team.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving &amp; continuous improvement skills, analytical, multi-tasking.</li> <li>Hands-on attitude, and detail-oriented work habits in testing environment.</li> <li>Experience with mechanical design and manufacturing drawing.</li> <li>Experience with component assembly and systems integration of electronics.</li> <li>Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of instrumentation and analytical tools, hand and power tools and HV equipment.</li> <li>H.S Diploma or GED or 5+ years equivalent industry work experience.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
