This role focuses on ensuring assembled units meet performance and quality specifications through detailed test procedures, diagnostics, and system validation. The Manufacturing Technician plays a critical role in maintaining product reliability by identifying issues and restoring functionality in complex devices.Primary Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li>Operate and test precision electro-mechanical and optical systems to verify performance against specifications</li><li>Execute detailed test procedures using diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other measurement tools</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues to restore product functionality</li><li>Analyze test results and identify root causes of failures or performance deviations</li><li>Perform system-level validation of complex devices, ensuring adherence to quality, reliability, and performance standards</li><li>Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support testing and troubleshooting activities</li><li>Accurately document test data, results, and repair actions in manufacturing systems</li><li>Maintain strict adherence to ESD, safety, and handling procedures for sensitive components</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process or product issues and recommending solutions</li><li>Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues</li></ul>Job Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred</li><li>1–3 years of experience in a technical, test, or electronics-related role</li><li>Hands-on experience using diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters and/or oscilloscopes</li><li>Experience working with electro-mechanical systems; exposure to optics or laser-based systems strongly preferred</li><li>Experience performing test procedures on complex devices and interpreting results</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation</li><li>Experience with optical systems, lasers, or imaging technologies preferred</li><li>Prior experience in a manufacturing test or diagnostics environment preferred</li><li>Familiarity with calibration and measurement processes preferred</li><li>Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or manufacturing/test software</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li><li>High attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed</li></ul>Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.About Teledyne FLIR DefenseJoin Teledyne FLIR Defense, where we're dedicated to supporting critical missions with an exciting range of cutting-edge technologies.
