In this role, you will serve as a key contributor to cross-functional collaboration — partnering with Accounts Payable and Treasury on cash disbursement processes while supporting both internal and external audit activities. This is an opportunity for a proactive accounting professional to drive meaningful impact by identifying efficiencies, enhancing internal controls, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data across a dynamic, project-driven organization. This role reports to the Manager, General Accounting.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul><li>Manage duties that support general accounting goals and priorities. </li><li>Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and record journal entries, including quarterly accruals</li><li>Assists with all aspects of accounting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.</li><li>Reviews financial data for accuracy, identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations.</li><li>Ability to research and reconcile discrepancies and verify documents in accordance with accounting procedures and policies.</li><li>Proactively work on initiatives to implement operational accounting efficiencies through process improvements and control enhancements.</li><li>Assist in providing audit support to internal and external auditors.</li><li>Manage accounts payable transactions and manage priorities related to the cash disbursement process through collaboration with the Accounts Payable accountant and Treasury department.</li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>BA/BS in Accounting, with an MBA or CPA preferred</li><li>4+ years of experience in accounting, out of which a minimum of 2 years in public accounting or at a public company (Preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of GAAP practices and processes</li><li>Familiarity with project level accounting, quarterly accruals, consolidations, and multi-entity structures.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel</li><li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while adapting quickly to maintain deadlines.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and internal customers. </li></ul> NICE TO HAVES<ul><li>Experience in renewable energy accounting (Preferred)</li><li>Experience with Sage Intacct (Preferred)</li></ul> #LI-Hybrid<div><div><div>Avantus offers competitive compensation with an excellent benefits package, including 401(k) matching; comprehensive medical and dental plan options; and flexible PTO.
