This role has end-to-end ownership of category performance, including cost, quality, delivery, risk, and innovation, and serves as a key strategic partner across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and executive leadership. This is a highly visible individual contributor role that drives long-term sourcing strategy, leads complex supplier negotiations, and builds resilient global supply chains in a regulated manufacturing environment.Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities: <ul><li>Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with business objectives, growth plans, and technology roadmaps; establish dual source and risk mitigation strategies for critical materials</li><li>Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships, including executive-level relationships, performance management, and long-term agreements</li><li>Monitor global supply markets, geopolitical risks, and macroeconomic trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategies</li><li>Lead RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, and sourcing decisions for assigned commodities or programs</li><li>Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, lead time, commercial terms, and long-term agreements</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Program Management in NPI, product lifecycle management, and design-to-cost initiatives; influence decisions through data-driven insights</li><li>Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve end-to-end supply chain performance and resilience</li><li>Support supplier development initiatives to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance</li><li>Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives, including Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE), should-cost analysis, and supplier consolidation; champion best practices in sourcing, contracting, and supplier management across the organization</li><li>Track, validate, and report realized and forecasted cost savings</li><li>Support annual operating plan (AOP) goals and long range cost reduction targets</li><li>Own supply continuity for assigned categories and serve as the escalation point for high-risk supply continuity, cost, or performance issues</li><li>Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract terms, export controls, and government regulations; support internal and external audits as required</li></ul>Job Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations, supplier agreements and sourcing initiatives</li><li>Experience in a manufacturing and/or regulated environment</li><li>Strong financial acumen, analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills</li><li>Ability to travel 25%–50% depending on business needs, mostly domestic with some international</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>SAP or ERP sourcing experience</li><li>Experience managing global supply bases and international sourcing strategies</li><li>Knowledge of contract structures, pricing models, and long-term supplier agreements</li><li>Expertise in supplier risk management, geopolitical considerations, and supply chain resilience</li><li>Experience supporting government or defense-related programs; familiarity with DFAR requirements</li><li>Professional certification (CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent)</li></ul>Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.About Teledyne FLIR DefenseJoin Teledyne FLIR Defense, where we're dedicated to supporting critical missions with an exciting range of cutting-edge technologies.
