Job Description:The Manager, Strategic Sourcing Mechanical Systems position will be based out of Madrid, Spain. This is a key role supporting mechanical sourcing across the portfolio of mechanical products within Nextpower's offering.  ​ Job description: <ul><li>Support and drive execution of sourcing strategy across categories within mechanical systems including – fasteners, tools and consumables, foundation equipment and consumables, gear boxes, dampers, field robotics and other mechanical systems as a part of Nextpower’s product portfolio. </li></ul><ul><li>Regional (EU) lead for supplier relationships across categories, collaborating with leadership in the US, India and China to execute specific objectives and activities. </li></ul><ul><li>Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and establish strategic partnerships to ensure a robust supply chain. </li></ul><ul><li>Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing performance to ensure the highest quality standards and delivery timelines. </li></ul><ul><li>Continuously evaluate supplier performance, including cost, quality, engineering support and reliability, and implement corrective actions when necessary. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation, cost reduction initiatives, and process improvements. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to align sourcing activities with production requirements and quality standards. </li></ul><ul><li>Drive cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier selection, and value engineering. </li></ul><ul><li>Develop and implement effective procurement processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. </li></ul><ul><li>Identify and mitigate risks related to the sourcing and procurement of mechanical components, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or supplier financial instability. </li></ul><ul><li>Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential disruptions on the organization's operations. </li></ul><ul><li>Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of mechanical components, and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly. </li></ul><ul><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team. </li></ul>Required Qualification &amp; Experience: <ul><li>8-12 years of experience of strategic sourcing for mechanical parts such as tools, fasteners, gear boxes, dampers, robotics, heavy equipment etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Has strong experience managing a supplier base. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience collaborating with global team </li></ul><ul><li>Deep knowledge about manufacturing process and mechanical assemblies. </li></ul><ul><li>Must be a skilled negotiator, highly analytical, creative and an effective communicator. </li></ul><ul><li>High degree of autonomy and accountability for results. </li></ul>Preferred Qualification &amp; Experience: <ul><li>Experience in Solar or renewable energy or construction field </li></ul><ul><li>Willingness to travel (30%) to Asia and EU &amp; within US. </li><li>Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required; other European languages are a plus.</li></ul>We are looking for someone who demonstrates: <ul><li>Intense collaboration </li></ul><ul><li>Passionate customer focus </li></ul><ul><li>Thoughtful, fast, disciplined execution </li></ul><ul><li>Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement </li></ul><ul><li>Relentless drive to win </li></ul>At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
