Join us as we charge forward into an all-electric future. . </div><div> </div><div><strong>Position Summary: </strong></div><div> </div><div>The Public Policy Manager will lead EVgo’s policy engagement and external affairs efforts with state agencies, state legislatures, and local government authorities, as well as represent the Market Development and Public Policy (MDPP) team internally on key cross functional initiatives. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, have strong writing and external affairs skills, experience interacting with public utilities commissions and other state agencies, and preparing written and oral testimony, as well as demonstrated ability to translate policy outcomes for commercial teams. The position will largely be focused on the EV market in the Eastern US but is remote, with the expectation that travel will be required quarterly for team offsites and frequently for externally facing events in the Eastern US.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Responsibilities:  </strong></div><div><ul><li>Draft written testimony in EV dockets and utility rate case and regulatory proceedings related to EV charging and rate design, and serve as an expert witness. </li><li>Engage with government officials and other stakeholders through public processes  </li><li>Develop EVgo’s policy positions and strategy in relation to regulatory and legislative engagement </li><li>Collaborate with the Energy team and outside consultants to conduct quantitative analyses on potential electric rate structures and incentive programs </li><li>Provide and contribute to shaping thought leadership on policies that will increase transportation electrification. </li><li>Manage outside regulatory counsel, lobbyists, and consultants, and associated lobbyist compliance filings, as required </li><li>Work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams to proactively address business needs through policy; represent the MDPP team in key crossfunctional efforts and support EVgo’s commercial teams in cross-cutting initiatives </li><li>Work with internal teams to action policy outcomes into business operations including public funding (utilities and state agencies), rate design, and technical requirements.  </li><li>Monitor rate filings, state legislative action, trade press, and other sources for developments in EV charging and position EVgo accordingly. </li><li>Build coalitions of stakeholders, including trade associations, consumer advocates, and NGOs. </li><li>Support EVgo’s Real Estate and Deployment teams to engage public entities regarding timely deployment of charging installations (e.g. permitting reform) </li></ul></div><div><strong>Qualifications:</strong></div><div><ul><li>Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. </li></ul></div><div><strong>Desired Skills:</strong></div><div><ul><li>Experience with lobbying disclosure forms and compliance </li><li>Skillful at navigating regulatory dockets, legislative strategy, and public speaking </li><li>Strong analytical and Excel modeling skills. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret utility tariffs, regulations, and technical documents, or comfort with working with cross functional teams for assistance </li><li>Strong writing and presentation skills and interest in furthering those in a variety of settings (internal and external) </li><li>Fundamental understanding of EV charging technologies, rate design, and utility ratemaking process </li><li>Willingness to take initiative, work through obstacles, and drive projects forward. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. </li><li>Observes deadlines and deliverables, drives self and collaborators to meet deadlines </li><li>Highly collaborative and team-oriented </li><li>Self-starter, with comfort and interest in owning outcomes and delivering results </li><li>Able to lead larger and more complex teams; capable of training others. </li></ul></div><div>For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $122,100.00 USD to  $152,600.00 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval).
