As a Senior Systems Test Engineer, you will design and implement automated test infrastructure to validate our embedded software and hardware. To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how to break them to ensure a high bar of quality for our embedded software systems.</div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design and implement Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) automated test infrastructure for our embedded systems</li><li>Work closely with software and system owners to develop deep understanding of how our systems work</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop testing coverage requirements</li><li>Author and execute test plans to ensure our embedded systems meet functional and safety requirements</li><li>Root cause test failures and clearly document bugs for tracking purposes</li><li>Support development testing in the lab and in the field</li></ul><h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience</li><li>Minimum 5 years experience testing software/firmware</li><li>Proven experience in embedded systems test infrastructure</li><li>Proficiency coding in Python</li><li>Experience with test automation and continuous integration</li><li>In-depth knowledge of CAN bus</li><li>Experience working on safety-critical systems</li><li>Self-directed and motivated with the ability to work effectively in uncertain situations</li></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Experience with ISO26262 or similar functional safety standard in a different industry</li><li>Experience debugging across communication protocols such as CAN, UART, etc.</li><li>Experience working with HIL platforms like dSpace, Speedgoat, VeriStand, etc.</li><li>Familiarity with Simulink and MATLAB for model-based HIL testing</li><li>Ability to read electrical schematics and datasheets</li><li>Proficiency coding in C/C++</li><li>Proficient with basic lab tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron, etc.)</li><li>Experience with test and automation frameworks (e.g. Jenkins, Pytest, TestRail, etc.)</li><li>Experience working on high voltage and/or propulsion systems</li><li>Basic understanding of microprocessors and associated peripherals</li><li>Experience with startup or other small company environment </li></ul><h3>Equity</h3><ul><div>Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.</div></ul><br><div><strong style="font-size:11pt;">Employee Benefits &amp; Philosophy - Applies to Full Time Employees only</strong></div><div>- Healthcare, Dental, Vision</div><div>- 401k</div><div>- Flexible Paid Time Off - that we actually want you to use!</div><div>- 13 Company Holidays: 8 throughout the year + the company observes a week of scheduled downtime during the end of the year, allowing all employees to enjoy a break</div><div>- 12 weeks paid parental leave</div><div>- Yearly LightTrip stipend for an RV trip &amp;/or professional development opportunities </div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">Lightship offers all of its full time employees and their dependents full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance.
