Please note that this is an on-site role.Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Management &amp; Sourcing Strategy:<ul><li>Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, cost, and reliability.</li><li>Lead sourcing activities including supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, and audits.</li><li>Negotiate contracts, long‑term agreements, NDAs and pricing frameworks to secure competitive advantage.</li><li>Drive supplier improvement programs and develop risk‑mitigation plans for critical/sole‑source items.</li></ul>Operational Procurement Execution:<ul><li>Manage procurement of raw materials, fabricated parts, machined items, electronics and bespoke components.</li><li>Align procurement activities with production plans and engineering requirements for new product introductions.</li><li>Resolve material shortages promptly to prevent production downtime.</li><li>Oversee PO creation, amendments, expedites, and supplier communications.</li><li>Coordinate obsolescence management and engineering change impacts.</li></ul>Performance, Reporting &amp; Cost Management:<ul><li>Monitor supplier performance metrics (OTD, quality, lead time, cost).</li><li>Identify and deliver cost‑reduction opportunities through negotiation, resourcing, and value engineering.</li><li>Produce regular reports on open POs, late orders, inventory coverage, and supply chain risks.</li><li>Support inventory optimisation, Kanban replenishment, and MRP data accuracy.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Continuous Improvement:<ul><li>Ensure adherence to procurement procedures, AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements, and compliance obligations.</li><li>Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to policy, process and documentation improvements within the Supply Chain function.</li></ul>Essential Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>5+ years’ experience in procurement within electro‑mechanical or defence/aerospace manufacturing.</li><li>Strong understanding of electronic components, machined and fabricated parts, and technical specifications.</li><li>Proficient in ERP/MRP systems.</li><li>Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs.</li><li>Strong commercial negotiation and supplier‑relationship skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities across engineering and production.</li><li>Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 or similar quality frameworks.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams.</li></ul>Desirable Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>CIPS Level 3+ or working towards accreditation.</li><li>Experience in Kanban systems and long‑term purchase agreements.</li><li>Data‑driven decision‑making mindset with high attention to detail.</li><li>Experience supporting new product development (NPI) sourcing.</li><li>Experience in defence procurement or security‑controlled environments.</li></ul>Physical &amp; Travel Requirements:<ul><li>Occasional local travel for supplier visits and business meetings.</li></ul>Range of benefits include.<ul><li>Salary sacrifice-led pension plan that matches employee contributions up to 7%.</li><li>Free life assurance cover at the value of four times basic annual salary.</li><li>25 days holiday per annum plus 8 public holidays.
