You will focus on enhancing efficiency and capacity by evaluating current manufacturing processes, developing and implementing new production plans, and reducing overall manufacturing costs.</span></div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Interpret engineering drawings, apply manufacturing knowledge, and use digital tools to design efficient, high-quality processes, jigs, and workstations.</li><li>Select and procure equipment, tools, and fixtures that meet Lightship specifications and project needs, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.</li><li>Use structured problem-solving and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.</li><li>Assists with line capacity planning and leads yield improvement projects in collaboration with management and inputs from engineering.</li><li>Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements.</li><li>Using feedback from product quality, provides corrective action and monitors implementation.</li><li>Drives continuous improvement projects to elevate product performance in manufacturing.</li><li>Complete readiness assessments and ensure successful launches into production.</li><li>Develop and maintain production documentation (work instructions, test procedures, etc.)</li><li>Multi-tasking and active engagement in the production environment.</li><li>Identify risks to production and implement mitigation plans.</li><li>Assists production personnel with troubleshooting and guidance resolving everyday issues.</li><li>Participate in daily standup meetings to ensure daily goals are met as needed.</li></ul><h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Electric, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or evidence of exceptional experience in related fields or equivalent</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments (preferably automotive or aerospace).</li><li>Planning capacity increases and production floor layouts and line balancing</li><li>Providing manufacturing floor support, designing, creating, and improving jigs and fixtures.</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment to execute tasks under general direction.</li><li>Experience working successfully in multi-disciplinary teams.</li><li>Reading and understanding GD&amp;T drawings and technical documents.</li><li>Solid presentation and computer skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Projects, etc.)</li><li>Experience with NPI and transition to production.</li></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Project management skills</li><li>Excellent interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Experience in the automotive industry</li></ul><h3>Equity</h3><ul><li>Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.</li></ul><br><div><b style="font-size:11pt;">Employee Benefits &amp; Philosophy - Applies to Full Time Employees only</b></div><div>- Healthcare, Dental, Vision</div><div>- 401k </div><div>- Flexible Paid Time Off - that we actually want you to use!</div><div>- 8 Company Holidays + the company observes a period of scheduled downtime during the end of the year for a week, allowing all employees to enjoy a break</div><div>- 12 weeks paid parental leave</div><div>- $2,000 per year towards an RV trip of your own &amp;/or professional development opportunities - we call this a LightTrip</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">Lightship offers all of its full time employees and their dependents full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance and covers 100% of the insurance premium.
