Key Roles and Responsibilities<ul><li>Develops programs and procedures designed to reduce occupational and non-occupational accident/injury/illness experiences.</li><li>Promotes health and safety awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications, participation, and programming.</li><li>Coordinates creation of site Health and Safety targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group safety strategic initiatives designed to drive a safety culture, compliance, and results.</li><li>Manages development and maintenance of training programs on industrial safety, industrial hygiene, emergency planning, government regulations, hazardous materials, and other related issues. Tracks training completion.</li><li>Implements all aspects ISO45001, 14001 and 50001.</li><li>Identifies action-based health &amp; safety goals for site leadership team members, functional managers and front-line leaders to support achievement of the site’s safety targets and objectives.</li><li>Ensures completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize Health and Safety aspects and hazards.</li><li>Supports the deployment of Health and Safety element champions and teams and facilitates their engagement in ownership of the activities required to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Manages the completion of a campus-wide evaluation of compliance with Federal, State, local and company Health and Safety requirements (OSHA, MIOSHA, etc.)</li><li>Identify applicable OSHA, federal and state regulations to ensure compliance through standardized processes. Prepare and submit government reports as required by all applicable regulations.</li><li>Leads site efforts to ensure that key Health and Safety operational controls are in place and that Health and Safety action items are resolved on a timely basis.</li><li>Investigate workplace incidents.</li><li>Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.</li></ul>Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or closely related field from an accredited institution.</li><li>Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in assisting with management of environmental, occupational health or safety programs within a manufacturing center environment.</li><li>Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager or Certified Fire Protection Specialist).</li><li>Ergonomics preferred.</li><li>Management systems knowledge of planning, objectives and targets, preventative and corrective action, and monitoring/inspecting/auditing.</li><li>Must have ability to work with minimal supervision and must be capable of implementing H&amp;S Function activities as directed.</li><li>Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams</li><li>Ability to act as an agent of change.</li><li>Ability to communicate with clarity, impact and passion with all levels of the organization</li><li>Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and track multiple projects to completion</li><li>Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes</li><li>Ability to demonstrate managerial courage</li></ul>Salary Range:$70,400 - $96,800Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement Carefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
