This role requires a balance of “hunter” and “farmer” skills, focusing on the sale of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) optimization services and demand response programs, and comprehensive account management for commercial and industrial (C&amp;I) clients. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted customer advisor, managing the entire sales lifecycle, and collaborate cross-functionally to develop, propose, and close business opportunities that maximize an asset’s or facility’s operational flexibility to generate cash and unlock bill savings while enhancing grid reliability.  </div><div><br></div><div>Our product - developed to help solve the greatest problem of our time, the climate crisis - is tested and proven, and we have moved from startup to significant (and rapid) growth stage. Our aspiration is to be a leader in increasing diversity within the energy industry, and that starts with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion within our organization.</div><br><br><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Deliver against a quota to get more cash and better energy for our customers</li><li>Prospect, present proposals, negotiate, and close business</li><li>Report on all sales activities through Voltus’s CRM systems</li><li>Collaborate closely with internal engineering-, product-, and energy markets teams to develop technically viable and economically attractive battery optimization service proposals </li><li>Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at customer accounts to ensure high customer satisfaction and customer retention</li><li>Continually make us a better company</li></ul><h3>Desired Skills</h3><ul><li>College degree (engineering undergrad degree or MBA preferred)</li><li>Industry knowledge: understanding of BESS technology, demand response programs, utility rate structures, and/or the overall energy market landscape</li><li>Demonstrated history of developing and selling B2B energy products and services, with 3-10 years B2B sales experience</li><li>Ability to develop, negotiate and close customized deals effectively</li><li>Technology minded, with the ability to explain high-tech info to a variety of audiences</li><li>Time management, prioritization, and the ability to self-motivate</li><li>Excellent cross-functional leadership skills</li><li>Dedicated to giving and receiving feedback in all directions for the good of each teammate and the organization</li><li>Top-notch communication - in person, written and presentations</li><li>Experience with tools like PowerPoint, Salesforce, Google Suite</li></ul><h3>Compensation</h3><ul><li>$110,000 base salary</li><li>$40,000 - $125,000 additional variable OTE compensation</li><li>Uncapped commissions w/residual payments</li><li>Complete benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, flexible PTO and monthly phone &amp; internet stipend</li></ul><br><div>Please note that at this time, <b>we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires</b>.
