You will enjoy significant responsibility for the management of your own projects within a supportive and collaborative team environment.Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:<ul><li>Prepare written carbon project feasibility analysis documents for landowners</li><li>Perform statistical analyses of forest inventories and other data sets</li><li>Analyze remote sensing databases to produce accurate estimates of carbon sequestration and emissions reductions</li><li>Conduct silvicultural research across project regions</li><li>Manage geospatial data and produce maps using ArcGIS or other geospatial software</li><li>Analyze financial costs and benefits of carbon project development</li><li>Review easements/harvest prohibitions and conduct project eligibility due diligence</li><li>Articulate carbon analysis processes for landowners</li><li>Travel is less than 10%</li></ul>Required Education, Qualifications &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in forestry or another applicable discipline</li><li>1 or more years of professional experience in forestry or forest carbon-related field</li><li>Experience implementing afforestation/reforestation activities</li><li>Experience working with a variety of forms of timber data</li><li>Knowledge of a variety of North American forest types</li><li>Experience in ArcGIS mapping and analysis</li><li>Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of database management a plus</li><li>Experience cleaning and troubleshooting data</li><li>Experience in statistical analysis</li><li>Knowledge of forest carbon policy, carbon protocols (compliance and voluntary), and carbon accounting standards</li><li>Experience and comfort managing client and third-party relationships.</li></ul>Preferred Education, Qualifications &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Master’s degree in forestry or another applicable discipline</li><li>2 or more years of professional experience in forestry or forest carbon-related field</li><li>Knowledge of database management (MS Access preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of R Statistical Software</li></ul><div>Equal EmploymentAnew is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
