<div>350.org is looking for a Country Manager, Brazil, who leads the development and implementation of national program strategies to advance our mission and global objectives. About 350.org350’s mission is to keep carbon in our atmosphere to a safe level, below 350 parts per million. We do this by mobilising ordinary people to campaign for universal access to clean energy and an end to fossil fuels. About the Country Manager, Brazil&nbsp;The Country Manager, Brazil leads the development and implementation of national program strategies to advance our mission and global objectives. They are also responsible for growing 350’s influence, income, and impact in Brazil, blazing a trail towards an increasingly independent and well-resourced 350 Brazil. This includes providing strategic and inspiring leadership to a diverse, multifunctional, and passionate group of staff and partners; building shared team alignment around strategic steer, values, and political analysis; and driving local supporter growth, visibility, alliances, and fundraising. Key Result Areas:Campaign Strategy and Delivery: Develop and oversee the successful implementation of&nbsp; winning national campaigns that achieve outcomes people care about while reducing emissions in line with the global strategySupporter and Income Growth: Reverse the supporter decline in Brazil and increase supporter engagement through data-driven engagement pathways. Expand local institutional funding partnerships.Culture: Foster an inclusive, agile, collaborative culture in the country team, while defining clear lines of decision-making and accountability for results.Network: Cultivate and maintain our network of local partners and local groups in Brazil and effectively integrate them into national and international campaigns and mobilisations.Technology and Data: Foster and embed a culture of data-driven decision-making and technology innovation at the country level.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Partnerships: Cultivate and steward strategic networks and programmatic partnerships with allies and institutional donors in order to resource and amplify campaigns, working closely with the Grants team.Spokesperson &amp; Thought Leadership: Acting as a senior spokesperson, raise <a href="http://350.org">350.org</a>’s profile externally with media, allies, and funders, including through blogs and social media activity as well as public speaking engagements. Duties and Responsibilities:Strategic program leadership:<ul><li>Provide strategic leadership and ensure the development and implementation of effective national strategies in the context of 350’s global vision, mission, and goals.</li><li>Regularly analyse risks and opportunities.</li><li>Oversee, drive, and support identified campaigns for 350, under the pillars of the organization’s ‘strategic steer’ with clear deliverables and innovative tactics.</li><li>Oversee and guide as appropriate team response to reactive opportunities or flashpoint campaigns.</li><li>​​Expand and deepen relationships with national and regional partners/allies, including “unusual suspects” beyond our traditional networks: engaging them in priority work areas for 350, conceiving and convening new initiatives and longer-term partnerships.</li><li>Oversee the effective and growing engagement of supporters, local groups, and partners in the country, including individual financial supporters.</li></ul>Contribution to global leadership:<ul><li>Proactively help to shape global strategy and global campaigns based on your grounded analysis of national and geographical realities.</li><li>Identify and seize opportunities for work in the country to contribute to cross-country and international initiatives and campaigns. From time to time, play a global leadership role in coordinating such initiatives.</li><li>Ensure effective work relationships between the country team and other parts of the organisation. Model and help to build unified, coherent, and effective leadership across the organization.</li></ul>Public engagement and representation:&nbsp;<ul><li>Understand 350.org's history, campaigns, and theory of social change, and keep current with basic climate science and policy as well as specific political, social, and economic trends in the country and region that affect our strategy.</li><li>Use this knowledge to act as 350.org's most senior spokesperson in Brazil, representing us regularly in the media, on social channels, with donors, and at key external events. </li></ul>Leading a team:<ul><li>Cultivate individual and collective excellence through strong and empowering people management and team building practices, including setting clear objectives for both results and behaviours, promoting continuous informal feedback and formal accountability, and performance appraisal.</li><li>Promote a positive culture that encourages care for self and others, healthy conflict, impactful collaboration, and collective ownership and accountability for ambitious goals.</li></ul>Stewardship:<ul><li>Develop and oversee the country's budget and finances to ensure high standards of accountability and reporting by tracking the spending every month, and identifying any changes or adjustments needed.</li><li>Ensure campaigns and programs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or surpass stated objectives</li><li>Ensure all areas of the country team’s work are effectively monitored and that performance data feeds back into learning and improvement, including program effectiveness, supporter engagement, media visibility, etc.</li><li>Identify and monitor risks, escalating to the Senior Management Team as necessary, and ensure that adequate mitigation plans are implemented</li><li>Ensure safety and security protocols are adopted as required; support the registration process as required.</li><li>In collaboration with our Fundraising and Finance Teams, identify funding opportunities and cultivate potential new funders; oversee and support first-class funding proposals, grant management, dialogue, and reporting for funders.</li><li>Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures as well as applicable laws governing operational matters</li></ul>Other:<ul><li>From time to time, contribute work towards 350. org's overall mission that is outside of standard responsibilities and instead relies solely on geographic location or work capacity, or as required by the organisation.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Required Qualifications:<ul><li>At least 5-7 years of relevant leadership and management experience in a related sector, ideally in an international or regional organization with a campaign or advocacy orientation.&nbsp;</li><li>A strong leader and team-builder; well-developed soft influencing skills and a true ‘listener’ to diverse perspectives with experience in leading complex and remote teams,</li><li>Sharp understanding of the political and policy landscape. Proven ability to identify the opportunities in that landscape and translate those into actionable strategies for change - including optimally adapting global objectives to national contexts.</li><li>Working knowledge of and keen interest in the current global debates on climate change and the energy transition.</li><li>Experience in managing complex multi-stakeholder projects where success depends on influence and persuasion rather than direct authority.</li><li>A track record of setting and achieving ambitious growth goals. While this need not be limited to growth in income, appetite for and experience in fundraising will be an advantage: either experience in securing and successfully implementing donor grants,/or in developing a public supporter base.</li><li>A dynamic communicator with good skills in public speaking, media, and writing.</li><li>Experience working in an international setting, across countries, regions, and cultures, in a distributed, multicultural team, where work happens online and across different time zones.</li><li>Experience of using online tools in campaigns and supporter engagement</li><li>Fluency in Brazilian, Portuguese, and English.</li></ul>&nbsp;Required Leadership Competencies:As a global campaigning organisation that must act decisively and take calculated risks in fast-moving contexts, 350 maintains a collaborative culture grounded in a clear leadership structure.
