Job DescriptionBerwick, PA - Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in filling the position of Sourcing Agent (Buyer) at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick, Pennsylvania.  Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, one of the largest dual-unit, Boiling Water Reactor sites in the U.S., delivers approximately 2700 MW of electricity to the grid in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Apply today and become part of the team which is helping to shape the future of electricity generation.EOE M/F/D/VJob Responsibilities* Perform supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution.* Create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers.* Focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goal on a regular basis.* Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization, with the Supply Chain group including Supply Chain, Logistics, and Materials Management.* Required knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.* Build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.* Solve a range of straightforward problems is essential.* Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures is necessary.* Receive a moderate level of guidance and direction is preferred.* Perform related job duties as assigned.Below are the requirements for the different progression levels.BuyerBasic Requirements<ul><li>Minimum 2 years of buying experience is required.</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databases is essential</li><li>Negotiation and analytical skills are necessary</li><li>Must possess effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Must have demonstrated problem-assessment and problem-solving skills</li><li>Must possess a strong customer service focus, with ability to build credibility with internal clients and external suppliers</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>MBA or other advanced degree, or CPM certification.</li><li>Background in Lean and/or Six Sigma</li><li>Strong Customer Service Focus</li><li>Strong Leadership Skills</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills for interface with individuals at all levels.</li></ul>  Note: You will have an opportunity to add attachments to your application.
