Other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>Assists in the planning and implementation of company environmental, health and safety programs.</li><li>Assists in periodic on-site facility audits to check for compliance with CAL-OSHA guidelines.</li><li>Participates in the company Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Safety Committee.</li><li>Familiar with CAL-OSHA General Industry safety programs. Including but not limited to Injury and Illness Recordkeeping, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Lockout Tagout, Hazard Communication and Respiratory Protection.  </li><li>Familiar with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) rules and permitting</li><li>Coordinates the purchase and inventory of personal protective equipment</li><li>Coordinates the purchase of chemicals and distributes chemicals to the production and manufacturing areas</li><li>Ensures hazardous waste is managed in accordance with Federal, California hazardous waste regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements</li><li>Interfaces with public regulatory agency representatives and serves as the liaison for Teledyne during compliance audits in a cordial and professional manner.</li><li>Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 5-10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Process driven with excellent interpersonal communication skills required.</li><li>Ability to partner with and effectively communicates to management and supervisory staff in both oral and written.</li><li>Skilled in mathematics and chemistry, with computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).</li><li>Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.</li><li>Basic Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Management systems</li><li>Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen</li><li>Knowledge of specific software (HRIS)</li><li>Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.</li><li>This position requires traveling.
