Now a wholly owned subsidiary of ERMCO, we operate with the agility of a startup and the backing of an industry leader. Job SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on thought leader to contribute to the Embedded Software team in the design &amp; implementation of the GridBridge products. This individual would work closely with Power Electronics HW, DSP Engineers, and other R&amp;D personnel. This position requires software engineering leadership in the implementation of embedded control of hardware and interface to DSP based Power Electronics. The platform software is based on a Yocto build of embedded Linux running on an iMX8 processor. The GridBridge team operates in a non-hierarchical manner, achieving great success in our team centric approach to development. Our working environment is still structured like a fast-paced start-up.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:<ul> <li>Project Task Scheduling</li> <li>Leading the embedded software development team</li> <li>Mentoring team members in technical skills</li> <li>Driving excellence into the software development process</li> <li>Develop, support, debug, and enhance embedded software residing in an embedded Linux environment on an iMX8 processor and a bare metal environment on a STM32 processor.</li> <li>Develop I/O software to support peripherals such as SPI, I2C, GPIO, and analog to digital circuitry.</li> <li>Work closely with the Power Electronics Hardware and Controls team throughout design and development process.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Required proficiencies for this position include but are not limited to:<ul> <li>Proficiency in the C / C++ programming languages</li> <li>Scripting &amp; Shell Programming (Python, JavaScript, REACT, etc.)</li> <li>Working understanding of multitude of communications protocols to include: CANBus, Ethernet, WiFi, USB, Serial, LTE, ModBus, MQTT, etc.</li> <li>Experience using JIRA and Git in a development environment.</li> <li>Documentation skills including such areas as manuals, test procedures, MRD &amp; PRD</li></ul> Desired skills for this position include:<ul> <li>Experience in power systems protocols: IEEE2030.5, OpenADR, DNP3, Sunspec, and/or OCPP.</li> <li>JavaScript and REACT for user interface design</li> <li>Experience with Docker is a plus</li> <li>Development of IoT solutions using AWS or similar</li> <li>System testing, Manufacturing diagnostics, built in test/diagnostics (PBIT, IBIT, CBIT)</li> <li>Deployment and customer support</li> <li>SCADA or other utility standards experience</li> <li>Experience using a Requirement Management Tool (RQM) (e.g. DOORS, Visure, etc) for the purpose of tracking and traceability of requirements from product to design and test cases.</li> <li>Working with functional safety compliance processes (e.g. IEC 61508 and/or IEC 60730-1) to meet the certification process and all supporting documentation for certification.</li> <li>A working understanding of one or more of the following applications: power systems, power electronics, Distributed Energy Resources, and EV charging.</li></ul> ExperienceThe candidate shall have a minimum of 8 years of applicable experience.
