Position SummaryGFL Environmental Services is seeking a Class 3A Haz Waste Collection Driver to join our team in Fort St. John. In this role, you will safely operate a box truck to collect liquids and drummed waste materials — including used oil, oil filters, antifreeze, and plastics — from customers throughout Fort St. John and the surrounding areas. We’re looking for a professional, customer-focused individual who takes pride in delivering excellent service and representing GFL’s full range of environmental solutions.This is a hands-on, physically demanding position that requires the ability to work safely in all weather and driving conditions.The position follows a weekday schedule, with weekends typically off.Key Accountabilities<ul><li>Safely operate all required equipment.</li><li>Follow schedules and service orders in accordance with the Service Coordinator’s instructions.</li><li>Provide exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote GFL’s service offerings.</li><li>Complete service paperwork in accordance with GFL and TDG regulations.</li><li>Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components and other assigned equipment.</li><li>Keep accurate drivers’ logs as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled.</li><li>Identify and classify all types of hazardous waste.</li><li>Participate in GFL’s safety programs including safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.</li><li>Handle drum dollies and pallet jacks for transportation and loading materials.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a fairly clean Commercial Driving Abstract.</li><li>Ability to operate vehicles with a manual transmission is considered an asset.</li><li>Demonstrated manual dexterity and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. as required.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.</li><li>Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills</li><li>Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.</li><li>Ability to work safely and independently.</li><li>High level of personal integrity.</li><li>Strong work ethic.</li><li>Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.</li></ul>  We thank you for your interest.
