AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Highway Design Civil Engineer in the Harrisburg, PA area to join AECOM’s Mid-Atlantic Transportation team working on a wide range of transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area in our Mechanicsburg, PA office.This position is flexible to begin in Early 2026 for December 2025 Graduates or Spring/Summer 2026 for May/June 2026 Graduates.with a Civil Engineering focus in transportation.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.</li><li>Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.</li><li>Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.</li><li>Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.</li><li>Design of roadway geometry, traffic control, signing and pavement markings.</li><li>Utility coordination support.</li><li>Computer Aided Design production.</li><li>Calculation of quantities and cost estimates.</li><li>Assists in the preparation of technical reports and memoranda.</li><li>Participates in field visits and site inspections to gather data and assess project conditions.</li><li>Contributes to the development of environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies.</li><li>Assists in the preparation of permit applications and regulatory compliance documents.</li><li>Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to integrate various aspects of highway design projects.</li><li>Supports the development of project schedules and helps monitor project progress.</li><li>Participates in client meetings and presentations under the guidance of senior engineers.</li><li>Assists in the review of contractor submittals and RFIs (Requests for Information).</li><li>Contributes to the development of construction specifications and contract documents.</li><li>Supports quality control processes by checking calculations and drawings produced by team members.</li></ul>
