In this role you will work on a variety of key projects and initiatives ranging from simple tasks to more complex analytical projects.YOUR IMPACT<ul><li>Design, model and test new mechanical systems that integrate with a JLG’s.</li><li>Research and execute on continuous improvement request (CIR’s) to support manufacturing, supply chain, and customer feedback/operations.</li><li>Work with global engineering resources to prepare/revise/review vehicle component layouts using CAD (i.e. Creo Parametric)</li><li>Create and manage ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.</li><li>Update bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes.</li><li>Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.</li><li>Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.</li><li>Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems.</li><li>Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  <ul><li>Student working towards a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering field.</li><li>Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.</li></ul>STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Good oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Previous internship experience or work-related experience.</li><li>Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design.</li><li>Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements (SAE teams, etc..)</li><li>Experience using Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA or a similar CAD system is a plus.</li><li>Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles</li><li>Knowledge of construction industry and equipment used.</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS The following represents general working conditions for this role.
