If you're excited about building impactful tech from the ground up and being a part of a team that's making a real difference, this role is for you.Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop our data/ML pipelines and create internal tooling with a focus on observability into our data and operations</li><li>Assist with dataset creation both in creating the datasets themselves and in improving tooling around making datasets easier to generate and evaluate</li><li>Ensure 24/7 operability of our deployed systems and enable all of our teams to have the data they need to discover &amp; investigate incidents as they arise</li><li>Collaborate with other engineers to write well-documented and maintainable code and procedures</li><li>Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to Visia's overall product roadmap, helping to shape the future of recycling and green tech</li></ul>Who you are<ul><li>You have 1+ years of full-time work experience in Data or Software Engineering and a passion for data, and using technology to drive positive change</li><li>You have strong programming skills in one or more commonly used programming languages (we use Python, TypeScript, and Go among others)</li><li>You are comfortable working with at least some of the following technologies and are eager and able to learn others as needed:<ul><li>Database languages and tools (SQL, dbt)</li><li>Data orchestration platforms (Airflow, Dagster)</li><li>Databases &amp; data warehouses (Postgres, ClickHouse, BigQuery, SnowFlake)</li><li>Observability tooling (Datadog, Sentry, Graphana, Prometheus, anything involving OpenTelemetry)</li></ul></li><li>You have worked with large amounts of data before and possess knowledge around automating observability and improving capabilities for triage in production systems</li><li>A working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals (annotation, training, evaluation) is a huge plus</li><li>What you might work on at Visia</li><li>Building observability &amp; data consistency checks to allow us to ensure our platform is operational while minimizing human interaction</li><li>Assisting with automating ML data ingestion, annotation, model training, and evaluation pipelines to enable faster end-to-end model improvements</li><li>Collaborating with data analysts and product teams to build feature-rich datasets that are well-organized, annotated, and ready for use by other teams and systems</li><li>Extracting and visualizing service logs, metrics, and traces across our stack using Datadog</li></ul>BenefitsSalary: $110,000 - $180,000 + optionsHealth, Vision, Dental + 401(k)Flexible + Unlimited PTORemote + Asynchronous
